Week 1: Introduction to Data Communications

During the first week of this course you need to complete the 5 tasks listed here:

Task 1: Create your user profile on the Cisco Network Academy Website.

• Look in your MSJC student email for an email from Guy Reams with instructions on how to login to the Cisco Network Academy Website where you will setup your account profile.

Task 2: Once you complete your account profile you need to enroll into the appropriate Cisco class, look for CSIS 202 Section# BB, where Section# is your class section number on the Cisco Network Academy Website. Tip - Your class section number is listed at the top of the course menu in Blackboard (my.msjc.edu).

Task 3: Once you are enrolled in your Cisco class on the Cisco network Academy Web site, click on the course link located on the Learn tab of the NetSpace Home screen. Completely view all of the content for Chapter 1 on the Cisco Network Academy Website - instructions.

Task 4: Get access to Packet Tracer by installing it on your home computer or by using the MSJC RemoteApplication and Desktop System (RDS).

Task 5: Complete and submit the first Packet Tracer activity 1.7.1 - instructions.
