Wireless Access Point (WAP)

A wireless access point (WAP) is primarily used to provide network access to wireless devices using one of the IEEE 802.11 standards. The WAP in the image has three antennas, which provides for increased data throughput and link range without additional bandwidth or increased transmit power using a process known as multuiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO), an important part of the IEEE 802.11n standard.

Move your mouse to the bottom of the image and drag the slider left to right to view the WAP in 360°.

Move your mouse over a label (which appear while rotating the image) to view the labeled item in more detail.
