Review Your Profile and Settings
Please take a minute to update your profile information, including adding a picture or avatar of yourself and a NameCoach recording. You will be participating in numerous discussion forums throughout the course, and a picture to accompany your post can help build community. Adjust Your Notification Preferences
On the Dashboard, which is the first page that you see when logging in, Canvas displays indicators of the changes that have taken place in your courses. This includes recently graded items and announcements. The Inbox button also lets you know if someone has sent you a message via the Conversations tool, which is a communications tool internal to Canvas.
Notifications is the tool that sends these indicators via email and/or text message. They are sent at a frequency and method chosen by you. By giving you more control over how you receive notifications from Canvas, you can be confident that you are not missing important information provided by your teachers. But, you have to set up your notifications to ensure you receive all course-related information.
For this class, I will use Announcements to post information, and the Inbox tool to initiate individual contact.
