Overview
An ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) is a microchip customized and manufactured for a single, specific purpose rather than general-purpose computing.
Unlike general processors like CPUs (which handle any arbitrary program) or GPUs (optimized for parallel processing), an ASIC has its functionality hardwired directly into its silicon circuitry.
