Course Description

An extensive course on the newest techniques utilized in HyperText Markup Language (HTML) Web Authoring. Students are introduced to the basic skills necessary to create a Web Page, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), the use of HTML editors, and an examination of emerging technologies like the eXtensible HyperText Markup Language (XHTML).

Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to do the following:

A. Compare and Contrast HTML to XHTML
B. Compare and Contrast text-based HTML editors to GUI-based HTML editors.
C. Examine basic HTML markup and contrast markup languages to programming languages.
D. Compose Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and compare the methods of applying styles for page structure versus using HTML tables.
E. Evaluate methods used to enhance an HTML-based web page.

All quizzes need to be completed, and all assignments submitted, by midnight of the final day of this class.
