Refers to the level of Internet-based DNS servers just after the Root Level Domain. The Top Level Domains (TLDs) include: .com, .net, .org, .mil, .gov, .edu, .xx (two-letter country codes), .name, .aero, .biz, and .arpa to name a few. See also: https://cis.bbent.com/Tutorials/Internet/DNS/
